This backyard transformation in Atlanta, GA is more than just a sleek modern pool and spa – it’s a custom-designed outdoor living space created for relaxing and entertaining with family and friends. After several failed attempts consulting with other custom pool contractors and struggling to find a design that felt right, our clients turned to Boyce Design + Build to bring their backyard dream to life. One of the biggest challenges of this project was navigating the City of Brookhaven’s strict lot coverage restrictions. As an award-winning Atlanta pool builder, our team designed a layout that maximized available space while staying fully compliant with local codes.
The custom pool design features Black Onyx PebbleTec® for a rich, dramatic finish that contrasts beautifully with the surrounding lush landscaping. Along the waterline, Lavagna Black pool tile adds depth and elegance, while modern wall scuppers and a sheer descent waterfall creates soothing movement and sound. The elevated spa, set flush with the patio, integrates seamlessly into the layout while serving as a striking architectural focal point.
To complement the pool, a retaining wall with decorative water features enhances the visual appeal while addressing the property’s slope. Wide Bluestone steps and a stone patio create a natural transition between outdoor living zones, connecting the pool deck to the covered lounge and dining areas. A stepper staircase ties the elevated spaces together, adding both function and architectural interest.
The outdoor living continues under a spacious covered porch with a tongue-and-groove ceiling, a cozy painted brick fireplace and a mounted TV, making it the perfect year-round gathering spot. This area blends comfort and style, providing shade in the summer and warmth in cooler months, seamlessly extending the home’s living space into the backyard.
