Design Challenge

These Milton homeowners wanted to transform their sloping backyard into a luxury outdoor living space that could be enjoyed throughout the year. Their vision extended well beyond adding a custom swimming pool – they wanted a seamless extension of their home with dedicated spaces for relaxing, entertaining, dining, and spending time with family while preserving the property’s beautiful, wooded setting. The challenge was creating a design that connected the elevated covered deck to the lower pool terrace while making the grade changes feel natural and intentional.

The Solution

The result is a thoughtfully designed custom pool and outdoor living space that blends clean architectural lines with warm natural materials to create a backyard that feels both elegant and inviting. Every detail was carefully considered to maximize functionality while complementing
the home’s architecture and the surrounding landscape.

At the center of this custom pool and outdoor living project in Milton is a beautifully designed rectangular swimming pool featuring a flush recessed spa that preserves the clean, contemporary geometry of the design. A spacious sun shelf provides the perfect place to relax, while the custom Blue Granite PebbleSheen® interior finish, blended with Midnight plaster, creates rich blue water that beautifully reflects the surrounding trees and ever-changing sky throughout the day.

Surrounding the swimming pool is a spacious modern patio finished with large-format FireRock pavers. The same material continues seamlessly as the pool coping, creating a refined, cohesive look throughout the entire outdoor living space.

A painted white tongue-and-groove ceiling brightens the space and enhances its open, airy feel, while the light-stained cedar decking adds warmth, natural character, and timeless appeal. A ventless brick fireplace anchors the seating area, complemented by a mounted television, comfortable lounge seating, and a spacious outdoor dining area that makes entertaining effortless, whether hosting a summer cookout or gathering around the fire on a cool fall evening.

Thoughtfully integrated landscaping softens the hardscape and enhances the transition between the pool terrace and the surrounding lawn while maintaining views of the mature trees beyond.
